The towers are very faint in this photograph. Taken spring 2001, from an Amtrak Northeast Direct train, en route to Boston fron New York's Penn Station, on their trestle (Hells Gate Bridge) in Astoria, Queens, Astoria is in the foreground. The camera is facing west and is almost perpendicular to Manhattan, north is to the right, south is to the left. The towers were in Lower (southern) Manhattan.
